Choosing the right tapware can transform both the aesthetics and functionality of your space. Whether you’re renovating your bathroom, kitchen, or laundry, nailing the tapware is essential for creating a practical and cohesive look. Continue reading as we share our top tips to choosing the perfect tapware for your home.

Vanity Tapware

When it comes to choosing tapware for your vanity, you must consider the size and style that’s best for your bathroom space and basin type. To save money on your bathroom reno, we recommend trying to utilise your existing plumbing but if it’s in the budget consider moving your plumbing to nail the layout.

Basin Mixers: Mounted directly on the benchtop or the basin itself, Basin Mixers are perfect for moulded tops, under-counter and inset basin options.

✅ Pro: The rough in is much easier as your plumber will not need to install fixings prior to tiling.
❌ Con: More cleaning is required at the base of the tap because of water residue.

Top tip: Do you want a basin mixer but have an above counter basin? Our Extended Basin Mixer is a great choice!

Wall Spouts & Wall Mixers: Mounted directly on the wall, the Wall Spout & Wall Mixer are a great modern solution. A wall mixer combines both hot and cold-water controls into a single unit, allowing you to adjust the temperature and flow of water single handedly.

✅ Pro: Suitable for all basin types from above-counter to moulded tops.
✅ Pro: Creates a clean and uncluttered look without the water residue build up around the tap.
❌ Con: Extra plumbing costs as you will need to rough in prior to tiling.

Top tip: If you have a small space, the Mini Wall Spout is the perfect solution.

Shower Tapware

Carefully consider how your bathroom will function as it’s important to ensure that your basin, bath and shower tapware all works cohesively. Like the basin tapware, save money by utilising your existing plumbing!

Shower Set

✅ Pro: The Shower Set is the showstopper, all-in-one, ultimate choice for the shower. It gives you the best of both words, giving you the functionality of the hand shower and the luxury of the overhead shower rose.
❌ Con: You may come across restrictions, depending on your space and plumbing accessibility.

Hand Shower on Hook

✅ Pro: This is useful for tasks such as rinsing off sandy feet, washing pets, or cleaning the shower area.
❌ Con: If installed on its own, the height is not adjustable and there is less water coverage. We recommend pairing with a Shower Rose.

Top tip: We recommend using this in your bath set up too, it’s perfect for cleaning young kids! And de-soaping after a nice relaxing bath.

Shower Rose: Mounted from the ceiling with a shower dropper or wall with a shower arm.

❌ Con: Overhead shower head makes it hard to avoid getting your hair wet.

Top tip: Choosing the Rain Shower Rose 300mm will give you extra coverage making you never want to leave the shower.

Bath Tapware

Freestanding Bath Spout: Mounted directly from the floor.

✅ Pro: A bath spout typically extends from floor, providing a direct flow of water into the bathtub. It’s usually a part of a combined bath and shower system or a standalone bath setup.
❌ Con: Plumbing is trickier than normal and not every bathroom allows for this.

Top tip: Opt for this is you’re after a showstopper look.

Wall Spout & Wall Mixer

✅ Pro: This is the go-to choice for most bath set ups.
❌ Con: Less of a statement piece than the freestanding bath spout.

Top tip: If you’re considering a diverter mixer, we recommend using two separate wall mixers - this will give you more control of the water flow and temperature flexibility and require less maintenance.

Kitchen & Laundry Tapware

From your bathroom to kitchen and laundry, strive for consistency for all your tapware finishes and functionality, to create a cohesive look and feel in the home.

Pull Out Kitchen Mixer: Need the flexibility to clean large pots in the kitchen sink or hand wash the kids’ muddy sports gear in the laundry? The tip of a pull out kitchen mixer extends from a retractable hose, making it easy to clean bulky items. Pull out styles are best suited to large, deep or double sinks.

Standard Kitchen Mixer: A standard Kitchen Mixer is a traditional, more affordable choice, with a single spout that provides a consistent flow of water. They are straightforward and reliable, making them suitable for spaces where versatility isn’t as critical.
